Either we prove we can help or you don't pay!
The Road to Recovery starts with an in-depth, multi-system review of the body. We review several functional movement patterns generally then in depth. Next we look at muscular strength, joint mobility, flexibility, and tissue quality to determine key areas to address. We look at the entire body, head to toe because IT'S ALL CONNETED! We want to get to the root of the problem and not just treat the symptomatic area. We have to go deeper to confirm to true root cause.
There are a number of hands on techniques used calm down the nervous system, decrease and eliminate symptoms, relax tight muscles and tissues, and improve mobility. Manual therapy includes myofascial release, instrument assisted soft tissue work (IASTM) joint mobilization, and Smart Cupping. We also use techniques such as trigger point release, deep transverse friction massage, and Muscle Energy Techniques.
During the session and for "homework" you will receive a manageable (most 3 at a time) amount of home exercises to decrease pain, improve mobility, and increase strength and stability. Providing individualized and concierge care means We do NOT give pre-scripted, cookie-cutter exercises! You will receive an INDIVIDUALIZED set of exercises that is catered to what YOUR BODY needs at this particular stage of recovery. Whether that is getting back to running pain-free, some return to lifting progressions so you can hold the kiddos, or successfully returning to your weekly pickleball league, we have you covered!
Having a CLEAR understanding of what's going on, expectations on duration of treatment and how to get back to 100% can help more than any exercise/treatment technique. We want to help you TAKE CONTROL of your health. This will help promote your own Autonomy / Empowerment to make decisions about your body and your health. We believe it is important that you FULLY understand your condition, how it is all connected, in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
This is a great way to optimize your workout when you don't have access to heavy weights! Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) is a safe, evidence supported modality that allows for significant muscle hypertrophy (growth) and strength, improved endurance, and reduced joint stress.
Combining the therapeutic benefits of Dry Needling with Intramuscular Electric Stimulation has shown promising results in the research for pain modulation, reducing muscle tone and tension, improving range of motion, and helping restore healthy nervous system function. This combined with targeted exercises following is a powerful combination!

Tyler Gregory Physical Therapy, LLC operates as a direct pay and out-of-network physical therapy provider. If you wish to submit a claim to your insurance company for reimbursement, you will be provided proof of payment, and a “Super Bill” that includes necessary and appropriate codes, as well as any supporting documentation requested by your insurance company.
We choose to not bill directly through insurance in order to prioritize the care and needs of our patients. This allows us to focus on providing direct, one-on-one care while keeping administrative costs low. Moreover, as an out-of network provider we are not bounded by any limitations from insurers. Constraints at in-network clinics may decrease quality and length of treatment visits.
Reimbursement is not guaranteed, but is most consistent with out-of-network rates. To determine if out-of-network provider services are covered, contact your insurance company prior to your appointment.
However, because of increasingly high cost deductibles and copayments, many patients choose to simply pay out of pocket, rather than apply the fee to their deductible.
Accepted forms of payment include:
Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA), Health Savings Accounts (HSA), credit or debit card, check, or cash at the time of service. Please note that FSA/HSA can only be used for physical therapy services.
We will come to your home with a treatment table, towels, and any necessary equipment. Your therapist will do a review of your medical history, a functional/movement examination, then more detailed breakdown of symptomatic area as well as possible contributing areas that will be assessed/treated in future sessions. We will provide initial hands on, manual therapy treatment with up to 3 home exercises prescribed. Lastly, we will have a conversation about your goals for physical therapy, answer any questions you have, and develop a treatment plan that is individualized to address your goals.
The initial evaluation will last approximately 60 minutes. This is the time that is reserved for you. Please be ready with your forms completed; these will be send to you beforehand and reminders send it needed. If you need to fill the forms out when we arrive, this takes away from your evaluation and treatment time. Follow-up appointments are also 1 on 1 with your provider and 60 minutes long.
Q: How Do I Schedule An Appointment?
You can click the “request appointment” button on the homepage of our website, tylergregorypt.com where you will be directed to a contact information form. We will give you a call to touch base and make sure you are a great fit for us at Tyler Gregory Physical Therapy LLC. If so, we will enter your information into our system and send you all the paperwork online.
All our services are eligible for reimbursement under your out-of-network physical therapy benefits. We’ll give you a detailed "Superbill" receipt you can send into your insurance (if you choose) so they can reimburse you directly. We accept several types of payment, including direct deposit, credit card, Health Savings Accounts (HSA), and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). Costs are always discussed up front and clearly before any charges occur. You will never be surprised with a bill in the mail and there will never be hidden fees. There are several levels of care plans available to fit your needs.
We strive to make our high level of care, clinical expertise, and individualized approach worth your time and money, or your money back.
Since we are a point of service practice, your card on file will be billed at each appointment. This card may be a credit, debit, HSA, or FSA card. You can also choose to pay with cash or check if you wish.
You may always request an invoice from your physical therapist to submit directly to your employer or HSA/FSA provider for reimbursement. You may also request "Superbill" receipt if you wish to submit self claims to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
We are not in network with insurance because we don’t want our care to be dictated by an insurance company that cares more about shareholder profits than your health! Insurance companies require the consumer pay thousands just to meet deductibles. Then there's still copays, coinsurance per visit, and an out-of-pocket max! Patients are often shocked when that medical bill comes in the mail, and the insurance companies make a lot of money along the way. We believe this is not the right away to provide medical services, and a more fair, transparent, and direct-to-consumer option of services is preferred.
We are treating and to solving real and complex problems. This requires one-on-one, skilled care; not getting passed along to different physical therapists, physical therapy assistants, or supervised during exercise by unlicensed "rehab aides".
Accountants don’t sit down with groups of people to do their taxes; it is an individualized service, just like physical therapy should be. However, insurance companies do not reimburse physical therapists enough to work one-on-one with patients and remain viable.
This model allows us to achieve the best results possible. We can spend an increased amount of time with each patient to ensure a high standard of care.
You will never receive a surprise bill in the mail. There are no hidden fees!
Without an evaluation, this is hard to answer. Everyone’s body responds differently to therapy and each condition varies in length of treatment. However, in general, you should start to see improvement in symptoms and function within the first 1-4 visits.
Some patients only feel they need physical therapy once a month in order to remain functioning at the level they desire and schedule "maintenance" sessions accordingly.
Some patients are better within 4 visits, others need a longer plan of care. Much of patient success depends on the individual level of health, commitment to self-care, cause of dysfunction, and how many compensatory strategies have occurred over time.
It can be a process but we will teach you how to manage and improve symptoms at home with an individualized home exercise program.
If you live too far (Willing to travel within 30 minutes from Richfield, MN; exceptions can be made*), we offer virtual visits and have had wonderful success treating patients through telehealth. You deserve support, no matter where you are located. We want to help you reach your goals, whether we see you in-person or virtually.
No. In MN, direct access laws allow licensed physical therapists are able to evaluate and treat patients for 90 days without a referral from a physician. However, if you plan on seeking reimbursement from insurance via a Superbill, your insurance provider may require a physician’s referral.
You may self-refer, and when the evaluation is completed, your therapist can send a request to your physician; once signed, this acts as a prescription for physical therapy.
Additionally, particular services that fall outside of "traditional physical therapy" never require a referral. This includes:
Wellness/Holistic Care
Injury Prevention,
Maintenance Care (post completion of treatment plan of care)
Generalized Strength and Conditioning
Fitness and Performance Training
Like many answers in healthcare, It Depends! We are happy to schedule a no-obligation phone call and review services provided as well as if you have standard Medicare vs a supplemental insurance plan.
We can absolutely see you for wellness reasons, generalized fitness, to improve functioning and performance, and to increased strength (Medicare does not consider these services medically necessary). We may also be able to see you if Medicare has denied further visits at an insurance based PT clinic.
Make sure to contact us with any questions prior to the start of care to make sure the services will be appropriate and cost is understood. There will be no reimbursement eligibility for patients who utilize Medicare services
